My First Project

This is my first finished project. It was a Christmas gift for my parents. I wanted to make them something with pictures of the boys. So I bought some photo transfer paper and some fabric and after lots of internet research and a couple practice blocks I finally ended up with this. I was afraid to go too big with it so it's either a lap quilt or wall hanging I suppose. This picture of it looks pretty good, but up close you can definitely tell it's a beginner quilt. All things considered I think it turned out pretty good. I am now working on one for the in-laws. I'm doing the exact same thing except it will have pics of their other grandkids as well.
It all started with a dog bed. We got our adorable little Lexi back in July and for some crazy reason I decided I was going to make her a bed. Well, the bed ended up just being one big pillow that isn't the prettiest thing in the world, but she loves it and sleeps on it every night! I had these long curtains that matched the comforter on our bed but didn't fit right in our window. So this is the material I used so her little bed would fit in nicely in our room. After just a little while of trying to hand stitch this pillow I got lazy and went out and bought a sewing machine.

So, once the project was complete, I had a sewing machine that was just collecting dust. My aunt Janice mentioned quilting to me so I started reading up on it and watching some videos online and decided to give it a try!

Since I am self-taught and still have a lot to learn, I want to share my projects on here and hopefully get some feedback!
